Not going to the Cranberry Festival :(

Yes, it’s true.  My booth-mate had nothing to sell so they weren’t interested in going and kept ranting about the ‘oncoming storm’ that still hasn’t shown it face by 10:30, and I couldn’t man the booth on my own…so I’m not going.  I’m as disappointed as you are since it would have been great to see so many people at the Festival.

I have done outdoor festivals before, just not under the threat of a potential rain storm.  Maybe next year.

My next appearance will be November 14th at the Bradner Craft Fair.  Come one, come all!

Time flies…

This past year really kicked my butt.  Well, mine and the other 41 000 teachers in this province.  I spent the last year working with 28 students in a school filled with wonderful, caring, crazy teachers that made me feel right at home.  Once the strike ramped up and I was told summer session was cancelled (I was signed up to teach grade four/five math), I realized…I finally had some free time.

This was terrifying.  No plans.  No structure.

I spent a lot of time at the farm, helping my mother picking and sorting blueberries, blackberries, mulberries, and the seemingly endless de-stemming of choke cherries.  I dare say I ate more berries than my tummy was happy with some days.

Once I satiated myself with berries, I realized that I could once again pick up the mandrels where I left off all those months ago before life got too hectic.

Rebuild A jeep in 4 Minutes !!!!!

Nicely done, gentlemen!

Take off with Natarajan

This is fabulous!!!!

Willys Jeep…..Unbelievable
6 soldiers pull up on a main street in Halifax, Nova Scotia
as part of a parade. They’re in a standard issue WWII type Willys Jeep. In the span of about 4 to 5 minutes they completely disassemble the vehicle and reassemble it and drive off in it fully operable! The idea being to show the
genius that went into the making of the jeep and its basic simplicity.

“SMS” Lingo Takes a Toll On Language Vocabulary !!!

As a teacher, ‘internet’ or ‘texting’ speak drives me insane. I tell students to re-do their work if I catch them doing this. Why? Because the sad truth is that I can’t take them seriously if they put that stuff in an assignment, and what’s worse is that future employers won’t take them seriously if they put that kind of stuff in a resume or any projects that come in.

Take off with Natarajan

In ancient times, it used to take ages to deliver and convey messages from one place to another. But, thanks to the massive development in the field of information technology, the world has now turned into a global village where any messages or information is delivered in the speed of light.

SMS, e-mail, social networking sites are now speedy ways to send messages. SMS turns out to be a hit among all as it is an inexpensive way of conveying messages. Unfortunately SMS is now tagged along with its own set of short forms and spellings that are no where the correct form and are known to everyone as ‘SMS lingo’. The students are the most affected ones when it comes to the habit of using SMS language as it saves their time while taking down notes in classroom or while writing assignments, reported Kevin Mendonsa and Saira Kurup…
