Five days’ worth of creativity – slow going, but I think I still have it!
Time flies…
This past year really kicked my butt. Well, mine and the other 41 000 teachers in this province. I spent the last year working with 28 students in a school filled with wonderful, caring, crazy teachers that made me feel right at home. Once the strike ramped up and I was told summer session was cancelled (I was signed up to teach grade four/five math), I realized…I finally had some free time.
This was terrifying. No plans. No structure.
I spent a lot of time at the farm, helping my mother picking and sorting blueberries, blackberries, mulberries, and the seemingly endless de-stemming of choke cherries. I dare say I ate more berries than my tummy was happy with some days.
Once I satiated myself with berries, I realized that I could once again pick up the mandrels where I left off all those months ago before life got too hectic.
